Goodbye, Dear Karen

Goodbye, Dear Karen

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Karen Hutchison Suellau, who died in July surrounded by family. Karen served as the Development, Marketing, and Communications Director for NEWS since 2010. Her creativity and love of the mission of NEWS was evident throughout her tenure and the impact she made within our organization and the community. She was the administrative leader of 100+Women Who Care, helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for causes throughout the valley. She designed the most beautiful artwork that showcased the stories of NEWS clients, and she was the queen of disaster preparedness, helping us navigate earthquakes, fires, and COVID-19. If you didn't know something, Karen was the first person to ask; she knew everything about more things than all of us put together. She made us laugh and she brought us together. Karen will always be a part of our NEWS family and will never be forgotten.

May she rest in peace, because peace is what she strived for.
