NEWS Celebrated at State Capitol on California Nonprofit Day

NEWS is incredibly proud to be recognized by Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry for the 2024 Cal Nonprofit of the Year Award! Last week, our Executive Director Tracy Lamb and Board President Danis Kreimeier joined Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry at the 2024 California Nonprofit of the Year celebratory luncheon on the steps of the State Capitol. NEWS and more than one hundred nonprofits from throughout the state convened on Wednesday to commemorate and support one another for our contributions to the communities we serve! Thank you, Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry, for advocating for and supporting our important work in your district.

June: A Month of Recognition, Celebration, and Support for All Survivors

June is a month of recognition and celebration that NEWS supports all survivors experiencing abuse. While we were founded as “Napa Emergency Women’s Services,” eight years ago we rebranded – “NEWS” embodies the fact that we help not just when it is an emergency, and that we help men, children, and LGBTQIA+ members of our community. June is Pride! Every day, NEWS stands in solidarity and allyship with the Napa LGBTQIA+ community who can be more vulnerable to intimate partner violence than others. June is also when we celebrate the brave fathers who seek our services. Overcoming stereotypes is the first step to breaking down barriers to men seeking help. NEWS is here, with confidential, free, and voluntary services. Join us this month in celebrating all of our precious survivors.

NEWS helps all survivors.
